Within the framework of monitoring the implementation of the agreement on anticipating the human resource needs of investment projects
Coordination meeting between the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency and the Ministry of Vocational Training and Education

17 June 2026

As part of the follow-up on the implementation of the agreement concluded between the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency and the Ministry of Vocational Training and Education, a coordination working meeting was held on Wednesday 17 June 2026, at the Agency’s headquarters. The meeting was dedicated to assessing the progress made in the development of the digital platform designed for the exchange of data relating to ongoing investment projects and their needs for qualified human resources.

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Vocational Training and Education, Mrs. Nassima ARHAB, and the Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, Mr. Omar REKKACHE, in the presence of executives from both sectors.

This meeting is part of the preparations for the upcoming vocational training intake, through the adaptation of training programmes and specialisations to the actual needs of investment projects across the different wilayas of the country.

During the meeting, the technical aspects of the digital platform and the mechanisms for collecting and analysing data related to labour market needs were reviewed, enabling the anticipation of skills requirements and the orientation of training efforts in line with investment needs.

A number of indicators used in the analysis process were also discussed, particularly investment projects with the greatest impact on job creation, while taking into consideration the progress rate of project implementation and the deadlines for their entry into operation.

This approach will enable the establishment of an accurate national map of future skills requirements, distributed according to regions, economic sectors and required specialisations, based on data declared by investors. It will contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of vocational training planning and improving its alignment with the requirements of economic development.

In this regard, emphasis was placed on the importance of adopting a proactive approach based on the development of targeted training programmes that accompany investment projects from their early stages, thereby ensuring the availability of the required skills upon the start of their operations.

Both parties also stressed the importance of this mechanism as a strategic tool for strengthening coordination between the vocational training system and the investment sector, and for supporting the integration of vocational training graduates into the labour market in a manner that responds to the needs of the national economy.
