The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), Mr. Omar REKKACHE, received on Sunday, 28 June 2026, at the Agency’s headquarters, a mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by the IMF Mission Chief for Algeria, as part of the annual consultations conducted by the Fund with the Algerian public authorities, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Bank of Algeria and AAPI officials.
During the meeting, the Director General presented an overview of the reforms undertaken by Algeria to improve the investment climate, highlighting the main measures aimed at enhancing the attractiveness of the national economy, simplifying administrative procedures, and developing the investor accompaniment framework, particularly through reforms to the investment one-stop shop, the digitalization of services, and the strengthening of transparency in the management of economic land.
The Director General also presented an overview of investment in Algeria and the momentum witnessed across various sectors, as well as the main structuring investment projects currently being implemented across the different provinces of the country, as part of the State’s efforts to diversify the national economy and achieve balanced regional development.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on the economic reforms undertaken by Algeria and the efforts aimed at improving the business climate and enhancing investment attractiveness. The Director General responded to the various inquiries raised by members of the IMF mission regarding the legal and institutional framework governing investment in Algeria and the guarantees provided to investors.
The visit concluded with a field tour of the One-Stop Shop of major projects and foreign investments, during which the IMF mission was briefed on the various departments represented there and received explanations on its operating mechanisms and its role in accompanying investors and facilitating the implementation of their projects.
