The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), Mr. Omar REKKACHE, received on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, at the Agency’s headquarters, a delegation from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), led by Mr. Christian SEITLINGER, in the presence of AAPI officials.
The meeting falls within the framework of strengthening Algerian-German economic cooperation and following up on preparations for the project aimed at integrating value chains between the European Union and Algeria in the field of clean technologies (Cleantech) and priority sectors.
The project aims to accompany Algeria’s efforts to diversify its economy, develop industrial value chains related to clean technologies, and enhance the competitiveness of the targeted sectors.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on ways to improve the investment climate, encourage private sector initiatives, facilitate technology transfer, build capacities, and develop industrial partnerships, thereby contributing to value creation and strengthening integration into regional and international value chains.
Part of the discussions also focused on prospects for developing renewable energy-related projects. The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency expressed its interest in benefiting from German expertise and technical support in this field, in order to continue facilitating the implementation of related investment projects, given their strategic importance and their role in accelerating economic transformation and promoting sustainable investment.
At the end of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing coordination and strengthening cooperation in line with shared priorities, particularly in sectors related to renewable energies and the green economy.
