The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency and the wilaya of Saida organized, on Sunday, August 4th, 2024, at the wilaya’s conference room located in Haï El Bordj, a forum on investment under the slogan : “Wilaya of Saida : Great Qualifications, Many Opportunities and Promising Prospects”.
The forum’s opening was chaired by the Director General of the Agency, Mr. Omar REKKACHE, and the Wali of Saida , Mr. Amoumene MERMOURI, in the presence of the Walis of El Bayadh, Tiaret, Mascara, Sidi Belabbas and Naama, as well as general managers and officials of public and private institutions, representatives of ministerial departments and state institutions, economic operators, university professors, researchers and experts.
In his opening speech, the Director General of the Agency noted the attention paid by the President of the Republic to the wilaya of Saida, recalling the instructions he gave during his visit to the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency’s pavilion at the 55th edition of the Algeria International Fair (FIA 2024), about the need to work to ensure that Saida has major projects.
In this regard, the Director General stressed that the Agency seeks to embody many projects in the activity zone, the tourism expansion zone, and the industrial zone.
On the other hand, in his presentation of the latest statistics of the Agency, the Director General revealed that since the launch of the Investor’s Digital Platform on February 08th, 2024, 508 real estate assets have been offered at the level of 43 wilayas, and the total number of applications, until August 02nd, 2024, amounted to 2340, after which 332 temporary granting decisions were given, 108 of which became final decisions after completing the registration process, while 9 beneficiaries were recorded to have waived the decisions due to unreadiness, while no application was registered for 81 assets posted via the platform in some regions.
As for the projects registered at the Agency’s level, the Director General revealed that in the period from November 1st, 2022 to July 31st, 2024, they amounted to 8,465 projects with a total declared amount of approximately 3,840 billion dinars, and it is expected to create about 210,000 direct jobs. Among these projects, 154 projects are linked to foreigners (55 will be foreign direct investment and 99 projects in partnership between local and foreign operators of various nationalities).
For his part, the Wali of Saida pointed out the potentials that the Wilaya abounds in various fields, especially industrial, agricultural and tourism.
In the same context, he also prized the investment opportunities in Saida, as well as the available potentials, especially in the fields of energy, water, roads, landscaped assets, tax and quasi-tax facilities for the benefit of the Highlands’ wilayas, of which Saida is a unique example due to the considered qualifications that it has.
On the sidelines of this event, four (4) final decisions for concession acts were handed over to investors in the field of battery industry, waste valorization, oil mill and ready-mix concrete industry.
